CALL FOR ARTISTS

The City of Hamilton is seeking emerging artists and those artists new to working in public art to submit designs to the James Street North Public Art Competition.

Competition awards of $1400 each will be given to up to three artists for the design of art works to be installed along James Street North. Fabrication and installation will be undertaken by the city.

Budget for fabrication and installation: $6000 per piece

Deadline for submission:
3:00 p.m. June 17, 2010.
(Subject to change. It is the Artist’s responsibilty to visit this website to check for any changes to or clarifications of the submission requirements and deadline by addenda before making a submission)

Mandatory Information Meeting:
In order to have a submission accepted the artist must attend one of two mandatory information meetings:
7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday May 11, 2010 or
2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Tuesday May 18, 2010
