September 11th marks the official opening of CRAM Press, Canada’s newest and smallest print studio. The Official CRAM Press Print Master is Jose Armando who has volunteered many hours to design and renovate the CRAMplex facility, and he will supervise projects and the use of the studio. Relief printing (linoleum, woodblock), etching, colography, and silkscreen processes will all be provided when the facility is completed and equipped. A few projects are already in the planning stages and we are developing project and workshop costs. CRAM members will have priority accessing the use of the facility, of course, and anyone who has an interest in a print project should contact me.
This is an open call for donations of supplies to help get CRAM Press operational by September. Here is a partial list of what we need to get down to the jobs this fall:
• a variety of rag printing papers
• newsprint pads or sheets
• transparent base
• reducing gel
• shelac, finishing polymer varnish
Thanks for your support and I hope you will come to the reveal of CRAM Press Sept 11 @ 8 pm.
