Skydragon-When Hell Freezes Over! -Sean Grafton

This will be the debut of my photo-art exhibit, featuring numerous landscapes and iconic buildings from across the lands of Hamilton, photo-manipulated to perfection.
I’m also back on the proverbial saddle again, and have decided that this is the perfect night to debut my new musical project, Mediocre, with Sarkis Samuel, a grunge rock band that currently doesn’t have a bass player. Also playing- Little Silver Tabby,From Anywhere to Anyone, The Jeff K Band, Autistic Love

And the debut of Hamilton’s newest grunge-rock sensation:

Loose Cannon Gallery – McMaster Student Show

Various prints and other multimedia works.

The PrintStudio-Reflections and Divergences- Amelia Jiménez

Members Gallery – Bling -Hitoko Okada

Reflections and Divergences is an exhibition in two parts—a series of digital prints, and an installation created from recycled etchings. As the title suggests, the works reference something “other,” existing in times and places different from the images and objects on view.

Bling! is a humourous response to our economic downturn and is a satirical questioning of our consumerist social values. The candy colored gems are a playful irony of our culture of excess and acquisitions of status and luxury. Each piece in the collection is one of a kind, handmade and screen printed on 100% cotton jersey. Bling! is a product of our current economic recession

You Me Gallery  Pájaros : the bird is the word – Bryce Kanabara

Bryce Kanbara brings his Dundurn Castle big black bird-painting installation indoors.
Augmented by even more birds and animals – a zoo!

Blue Angel – IRENA VOR MITTAG

Various works by Irena.

The Assembly- Drawing Nite/Exhibit/Concert

(ALSO THE REST OF THE SONIC UYNION BUILDING WILL HAVE OTHER THINGS OPEN)

It’s DRAWING NITE V at the Assembly!!!! – Bring drawing apparatus as well as a strong urge to put it to good use, as you join like minded folks who brought you Drawing Nites I – IV. There are no (official)models, show up and draw that guy across the room while your friend illustrates episode #666 of The Cosby Show.
DRAWING NITE V will also contain the launch of Psychdoodles #2. Be sure to feast your eyes on this freegan, succulent mag, absolutely bursting with drawings from Hamilton’s ultimate drawing behemoths and demigods.
And, Holy Shit, there will also music by AWESOLLATOR (Dylan Hudecki from Cowlick) vs. Josh St. Denis, so wear your funnest pant suit and make it a date yo!

Exclaim Loves Supercrawl!

Ok so didn’t even realize but Exclaim has a nice little article talking about supercrawl! Here it is…

Supercrawl to Hit Downtown Hamilton with Ohbijou, Hidden Cameras
9/29/2009 By Stephen Carlick

It’s not every day that Hamilton, ON hosts an art and music festival, but it does every month apparently. Every second Friday of each month the art galleries, artists and musicians of downtown Hamilton and the surrounding area launch new exhibitions as part of the James Street North Art Crawl, while patrons of the arts from near and far are encouraged to visit and take part in the festivities.

On October 9, James Street North will celebrate the monthly success of Art Crawl by closing down between Cannon and Wilson streets to allow artists and patrons to participate in what has been aptly titled Supercrawl.

The free event will allow Exclaim!-approved acts Ohbijou and the Hidden Cameras to perform block-party style, along with a pile of other groups. The bands will play from 7 to 11 p.m., after which several separate after-parties will begin.

There will be a grand total of four stages (three outdoors and one hosted indoors) that will feature bands from both Hamilton and around the province. Local restaurants will participate by bringing their food to the event, while the Hamilton Food Share will be running a food drive for charity.
