THE NATHANIEL HUGHSON GALLERY-In the End We All Return To Earth-Shannon Amidon
In her new series “In the End We All Return to Earth,” Shannon Amidon delves further into encaustic painting, layering and collage, as she explores the process of healing; the persistent duality of life and death, and the mix of emotions elicited from experiencing the birth and death of loved ones in a brief span of time.

HAMILTON ARTISTS INC-Fail-Royston Maybery, Klause Pinter, Lydia Sntia, Timothy de Vries
Failure is often seen as the state of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, the opposite of success. In a studio practice however, failure can often be more valuable than success, as the artwork that fails to meet ones objectives can be used as the counterpoint to a body of work, or possibly open new routes for exploration. Although initially deflating, failure can be a tool to leverage possibility from the mundane becoming fertile ground for innovation. Each of the artists in this exhibition, Royston Maybery, Klaus Pinter, Lydia Santia and Timothy de Vries, engage with this concept from varying perspectives, be it literal representations of failure to works they perceive to be outliers to their practice, or actual failed attempts.

CENTRE3–Continental Drift-Andrea Kita
Andrea Kita shares her photographs to convey a sense of place and inspire contemplation about the seven continents represented in her work. This collection of photographs provides a glimpse of the diversity both across and within the continents. From dynamic urban environments to forgotten places, pristine natural landscapes to monuments of history and culture, there remain echoes of Pangea; reminders of the common roots of the land and our shared heritage of humanity. With every photograph, Andrea tries to capture the essence, or “somewhereness”, of each unique place and experience. Andrea works primarily with black and white photographs using both traditional hand printing and digital printing techniques.
